Introduction of helicopter engine

The power plants of helicopters are roughly divided into two categories, namely aviation piston engines and aviation turboshaft engines. In the early stages of helicopter development, the technically mature aviation piston engines were used as the power unit of the helicopter. However, due to its large vibration, low power-to-mass ratio and power-to-volume ratio, and complicated control, people have used the developed turbojet technology to find a helicopter power unit with excellent performance, thus successfully developing a turbo uranium engine for helicopters.
Practice has proved that turboshaft engines are more suitable for the flight characteristics of helicopters than piston engines. In today's world, except for some small helicopters that are still using piston engines, turboshaft engines have become the main form of helicopter power plants.
